Synopsis

Nintendo’s New Play Control! series continues to grow with this sequel to Pikmin that tweaks the real-time simulation gameplay of the original.

Thanks to Nintendo’s ever-dominant Wii conquering the games market, a whole wealth of new Nintendo fans has appeared, many of whom are yet to experience Nintendo’s classics from the GameCube era and beyond. Thanks to the New Play Control! series, many of these GameCube’s releases have made their way to Wii, now with the added benefit of motion control added into the gameplay.

Once again taking control of Captain Olimar, players have returned to the planet they were stranded on in the original Pikmin to collect trinkets to sell back home. The same frenzied strategy gameplay of the original remains intact, but the process now has a far more tranquil feel thanks to the game’s time limit being removed. A two player system also allows players to jump between two different spaceman as they control hordes of Pikmin to collect their items and fight the planet’s natural enemies.

With New Play Control! Pikmin 2, a whole new Nintendo audience has been given the chance to enjoy one of the GameCube’s most distinctive titles.
