Synopsis

A young mother and daughter bid farewell to dad a successful physician whos on his way to a lecture. Dad no sooner boards his commuter seaplane than all three are separately taken hostage by sophisticated kidnappers throwing their idyllic family life into jeopardy.

Trapped Review

'Trapped' stars Kevin Bacon and Courtney Love as a criminal couple who seem to have come up with a foolproof plan to extort money from wealthy families by kidnapping the children and holding the parents hostage. But when they target the Jennings family -Will (Stuart Townsend) a young anaesthesiologist, Karen (Charlize Theron) an up & coming designer, and their daughter Abby (Dakota Fanning) - it seems they may have met their match.

With umpteen plot twists the film will certainly keep you guessing! Kevin Bacon and Charlize Theron make a convincing on screen couple and help generate much of the film's tension, but the real star of the piece is the young Dakota Fanning (previously seen in the touching drama 'I Am Sam' and TV mini series 'Taken') who gives a truly excellent performance throughout. While the film's many plot twists will no doubt try your patience (and it features a thoroughly over the top finale that will leave you thinking that less really can be more) 'Trapped' is nevertheless a successful Hollywood thriller, complete with gritty tension and some outstanding performances at its centre.
