| | Roland Petit - Clavigo | |
Synopsis
The Opera National de Paris plays host to this Goethe-inspired ballet from Roland Petit. Shot in October 1999, the programme was originally filmed for televison, and is a two-part ballet. The choreography comes from Roland Petit, who manages to pull some superb performances from a glittering cast of accomplished dancers. Among them are Nicolas Le Riche (playing Clavigo), Marie-Agnes Gillot (as The Stranger), Clairemarie Osta (playing Marie), and Yann Bridard (as Carlos) among others. All the intentions behind Goethe's original play are kept intact, and expanded upon in this moving interpretation of his work.
