Synopsis

John Cusack (Identity, High Fidelity, Con Air) and Charlie Sheen (Scary Movie 3, Hot Shots, Major League) star along side a stellar cast in this compelling true story about the infamous 'Black Sox' Scandal of 1918, in which the White Sox players deliberately lost the World Series. The truth behind one of the biggest scandals in sporting history will bowl you over in Eight Men Out.

Buck Weaver (Cusack) and Hap Felsch (Sheen) are young talented baseball players for the great pennant-winning team, Chicago White Sox. But underpaid and demoralised by their all-powerful penny-pinching owner, the team are ripe for a money-making scheme. To give up winning the World Series takes a battle of morals and money, which explodes into a national scandal never to be forgotten.

Based on Eliot Asinof's 1963 book of the same name, the film investigates why the players, including the great 'Shoeless' Joe Jackson who many believe belongs in the Hall of Fame, would purposely lose the most important game of their lives.

Courtroom drama, greed, hypocrisy and brilliant performances by a superb cast, this is an unforgettable piece of American history
